01/29/2012 - Enschede, Netherlands (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Luuk de Jong's hat trick propelled Twente to a 4-1 win over Groningen on Sunday, moving the club past third- place AZ Alkmaar on goal difference.
AZ's surprising 2-0 defeat to Roda on Saturday opened the door for Twente, and De Jong took full advantage by scoring twice in the opening 23 minutes, and then adding a third goal in the second half after Groningen's Virgil van Dijk pulled his side to within a goal.
Leroy Fer put the result out of reach with a goal of his own in the 67th for Twente, which moves to within two points of leaders PSV Eindhoven at the top of the league.
Defending champions Ajax fell further off the pace after a 4-2 defeat to Feyenoord that saw John Guidetti tally three goals for the winning side.
Christian Eriksen put Ajax in front after 18 minutes, but Guidetti scored two times before the interval to put Feyenoord in front.
Otman Bakkal stretched the lead to 3-1 before a goal from Dmitry Bulykin 10 minutes from time set up a potentially interesting finish for Ajax.
But any hope was snuffed out three minutes later by Guidetti, who netted his third goal of the contest to seal the win, which moves Feyenoord level on 34 points with Ajax.
In Sunday's other matches RKC Waalwijk secured a 4-0 win over Venlo to move eight points clear of the drop zone, while Lasse Schone scored twice in the opening 20 minutes of a 2-0 win for NEC against Den Haag.

Work left to do: Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Kansas State
Texas joins Texas A&M and Kansas as locks after getting league win No. 11. Texas Tech greatly helped its own hopes and crippled OK State's with the two-point win Saturday. Is K-State the last reasonable hopeful? Could be an elimination match in Stillwater on Tuesday, at least for the Cowboys.
Work left to do:
Texas Tech [18-11 (7-7), RPI: 44, SOS: 12] A critical two-point win over OK State leaves the Red Raiders with Baylor and at Iowa State left. Get both and the Red Raiders likely are good to go. Get one and there could be some interesting comparisons with a K-State team that could finish two or three games "ahead" of them in the standings but doesn't have any of the quality wins Texas Tech has. Not a lot in nonconference play (against Arkansas in Little Rock being the best win, by far) to lean on.
Oklahoma State [18-9 (5-8), RPI: 50, SOS: 35] Still without a road win, the Cowboys now need to win two on the road just to get to .500 in conference play. It's hard to recall a team (OK, other than Clemson) falling so precipitously from lock status to almost certainly out of the NCAAs at this point. There are wins to be had in the last three, including a very big home game against K-State on Tuesday, but this team is reeling. Can you tell the pressure to win is getting to them with the way the final possession played out at Texas Tech? There are some good nonconference performances to lean on, specifically beating Missouri State and Syracuse on neutral floors and Pitt in OK City, but if the Pokes don't right this very, very soon, that won't be enough.
Kansas State [20-9 (9-5), RPI: 56, SOS: 96] It pays to be in the Big 12 North. The nine league wins are Colorado (twice), Missouri (twice), Iowa State (twice), Baylor, Nebraska and (a good one against) Texas. That helps explain the middling computer profile. The win over USC is nice, but the nonconference leaves a lot to be desired. The game at OK State in Stillwater on Tuesday is huge, as it could KO the Cowboys and leave K-State with a home date against Oklahoma with which to work.
Huskers' Lucky hospitalized for undisclosed reason
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska running back Marlon Lucky was hospitalized Monday for undisclosed reasons after Lincoln police responded to a call at his residence.
The Nebraska athletic department said in a release Monday that Lucky was admitted Sunday night.
MySportsbook.com has the Cornhuskers listed at +2500 to win the BCS National Championship odds.
A nursing supervisor at the hospital said all questions about Lucky were being referred to the athletic department. The athletic department said there would be no further comment from the department or Lucky's family.
A Lincoln Police spokesman said officers responded to a call at Lucky's residence 11:30 p.m. Sunday. The spokesman said he didn't know Lucky's condition at the time he was taken to the hospital.
Lucky, from North Hollywood, Calif., started six games last season as a sophomore and was the team's second-leading rusher, with 728 yards and six touchdowns. He also caught 32 passes for 383 yards. He averaged 19.1 yards on eight kickoff returns.
